Trasparency and FAQs

Operation Dvoretskyi has been able to be successful because we are a small charity with a well-defined and direct-action mission.

We know that a lot of donated funds through charities never meet their final destination. That’s not some subjective statement; It’s a fact. Operation Dvoretskyi exists to support a small and very clearly defined cause: to support our freind’s unit in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We will help other units as we are able, but our central focus remains the same - on our friend and his men first. On this page, we’re opening our books as much as we can for the sake of transparency, as well as answering some frequently asked questions.

Are any of you getting paid for this?

No! Operation Dvoretskyi is an all-volunteer group made up of friends who knew each other before the current war in Ukraine. We all have real jobs that we balance with obligations to Operation Dvoretskyi. We really just want to see our friend come home safely, that’s all.

What have you delivered?

Glad you asked. We’re actually quite proud of this, so here’s a living and redacted version of our tracking sheet. For operational security reasons, we can’t show you exactly how we’re getting our supplies and delivering them to our friend’s unit.

Is Operation Dvoretskyi a 501(c)3?

Yes, we are! When you make a donation to Operation Dvoretskyi, you will receive a digital receipt with everything you need to claim your donation as a deduction on your taxes. As always, if you need more information, please feel free to contact us using the form on our Get Involved page.

How will I know my donation has been put to work?

Since we’re a small charity, we have advantages over larger charities in terms of accountability. Since each shipment is tracked by Operation Dvoretskyi’s Logistic Team at every step, we can supply pictures of your shipment in progress and at its destination (assuming it doesn’t compromise operational security) upon request. You can also visit the Our Mission section of our website to see pictures of our operation in action. Additionally, you can follow Chris on Twitter (@iamcippino) where he frequently posts updates about Operation Dvoretskyi.

My donation isn’t processing, what’s going on?

Operation Dvoretskyi is extremely fortunate to have dedicated supporters around the globe. We are aware that our current payment processor, Stripe, does not support payments from certain countries. Currently, our workaround solution is Operation Dvoretskyi’s PayPal account. To make a donation to Chris’ Operation Dvoretskyi PayPal account please visit: https://paypal.me/clentricchia. Don’t worry, if you are able to deduct donations to a US 501(c)3 organization, your donation will still be tax deductible.

For a list of Stripe’s supported countries, please visit Stripe’s webpage here. Also, if there is still no workaround solution that works for you, please contact us directly and we will figure out a solution for you.

Do you know what you’re sending over there?

Yes. Operation Dvoretskyi is comprised of outdoorsmen, veterans, formally trained survivalists, nurses, and combat first-aid-trained individuals. We have personal experience with much of the equipment sent over to Ukraine.

What’s up with your Partner Program? What are the details and how do I know if it’s legit?

All of our partners are legal charity foundations in their own countries who have their own supply chains and delivery methods. To that end, our partnership is mostly financial, allowing them to collect funds from the US on a tax-free basis. We may at times work with them on specific delivery operations, but that is not normal. In the past Operation Dvoretskyi has diverted it’s own funds to our partners for specific operations in which we are also a stakeholder (ie. getting a vehicle to a unit that Operation Dvoretskyi benefits)
